Errors and Stop Messages Help Guide
This page will help you
to diagnose and fix common Windows "Stop" errors (Blue Screen of Death
(BSoD)) and fix installation problems caused by programs.
STOP: 0x0000007B (0XF78D2524,
0XC00000034, 0x00000000)
This is most often presented as a Blue Screen Error (BSoD) during
the Textmode setup (the part of the setup that first runs when you
reboot the computer and start setup from the Windows CD) for Windows XP
(home or professional).
The error specifically means there was a problem with drivers for
your hard disk drive. You are either using bad RAID drivers or
most like using a SATA drive.
Remedy: go into the
BIOS (usually via F2, ESC or DEL key) and change the Hard Disk SATA
Mode from AHCI to IDE. Or, depending on the BIOS, you may have to
just enable "IDE Emulation". This can be a permanent solution or a
temporary one.
This will make the BIOS emulate a standard IDE Drive which will allow
windows install to work. Once windows installed, and ONLY AFTER
INSTALLING SATA DRIVER, you can re-enable this feature in the BIOS
(which typically increases drive performance).
